One of our locations is proposing an NEC system to upgrade to. They currently have an older NEC that was installed 8-10 years ago, and now they need another install. My question is this: what terminals are compatible with the NEAX 2000 system? Include new, refurbished, legacy, etc, with series and model numbers. Do the traditional-legacy digital phones of the older NEC systems require any additional equipment to interface with the new system? Pardon my ignorance, but I am not familiar with the NEC systems. Your help and guidance is always appreciated. I've searched the NEC corp website and am only able to get a brochure that states that traditional technology is compatible. Where can I get some documentation to support that "such and such a phone is compatible or will work on the NEAX 2000, blah, blah" Once again, thanks.

Quick rule of thumb is, if the model number begins with either ETE or ETT you can forget it as they are 4 wire working. Anything else should work but the older they get the less modern features you can use eg. Hypercore handsets have no soft keys.
