NEAX 2000 IVS2 - Speed Dial? 1

I'm replacing an 8 button phone with a 32 button phone and need to know how to program keys 9-16 to be speed dial. I've RTFM but can't find which command I use to assign a feature to a button. Which command should I be looking at?

Are you using MatWorx and what version ? It is very simple when using MatWorx 3.5

Thanks for the response Wayne, I forgot to mention no Mat workx for this system. My guess is that I need to use command mode, 90 but that is as far as I have gotten.

How are you doing your programming on the switch ?

The vendor did the setup programming.

As you can tell I'm a newbie so appreciate your time.

The last time I had to make a change to a phone on one of the 2000s I went into CAT MODE from a phone at that location and made the change that way.

I'm used to our NEAX2400 which has Matworkx but with 2 sites that have the 2000 we have to use Cat Mode since don't have Matworkx works on them.

Cmd 1224 allows you to set the key pattern but does not give the option of setting keys 9-16 as speed dial. To do this you need to use cmd 9000 and set the keys to F11XX where XX = the speed dial locations allocated in cmd 94. Usually you start with the last location and work back, we normally allocate 10 more than the user requests to account for those used in this way. Be careful allocating memory blocks as it's easy to overlap and create a conflict.

Thank you for the valuable info. So I was barking up the right tree in what I found in the manual(for a change). I thought it had to be easier than what I was reading. Sounds like we are better off paying the vendor to do this for us.

It's not a matter of needing to pay a vendor, so much as good records. Going blind into a site I would have to be very wary of this and I have done it on a number of occasions. It is easy if you have hard information.
