Hello,

I'm not a telephone guy, but we have a 2000 IVS system here with an Octel Access voicemail. We've recently had issues with the Octel crashing and needing to be restarted (which take like 15 minutes to boot up).

My question is, what is a good voicemail solution for us w/ about 250 mailboxes? Also, is it worth investing in a new voicemail server for the NEAX 2000 IVS?

I would recommend the NEC AD8 "in skin" vmail... if there is room.

The AD8 looks nice, but does it go into the 2000IVS? I'm confused.

I'm using the AD-8 with no problems on a Neax 2000IVS. It plugs right into the Neax 2000IVS (takes two slots).

The AD-8 has limit-less number of boxes. But, with 250, you may want to get an AD-40 or AD-64.

If you are going to use the ad-8 I would advise retrofit your ivs to the ips. Nec has officially discontinued suppory for the ivs, but has made a way for you to do a relatively simple upgrade for ruffly 3k depending on what is in your current system. The bennefit for the voicemail will be the abbility to use the softkeys to check voicemail. If you do not want to upgrade the ad-40 or ad-65 has a better menu mode for checking you voicemail messages. Hope this helps your
decision making.
