I was recently asked to produce shutdown procedures for this system. To my knowledge (rookie) you start powering down the last PIM first and processor PIM last; startup would be the opposite of the shutdown sequence.

Is this correct or is there a command that would gracefully shutdown the system?

Use command EC6>0>0 to back up data and just power it down. It doesn't matter when shutting it down. When powering back up you should have all other PIM's powered before PIM 0 so that the CPU will see them, I'm not really sure if that matters either but better to be on the safe side.

Thanks 3racefan3.

In a power outage situation where I know my backup power supply is going to be drained all I have to do is power off the PIMS in the order I described to shutdown my PBX.

My reboot sequence will be the opposite of the shutdown; I just want to be clear on this.

Don't worry this is not a Nortel or Inertel system. The power down sequence is not that critical. If you power down PIM 0 first the other PIMS will go off line anyway as there is no FP bus available.
I've been powering this system off for over a decade now and I turn off what ever I can reach first. Typically PIM 0 and then all the other PIMS. It really doesn't matter that much.
