I'm in the fortunate position of having to take care of a newly acquired sv8500 by my company. I've been working with the now 11 years old 2400ICS, and installed IVS/IPS2000 systems as well, as an in-house tech.
Now the 8500 and the 2400 co-exist, connected with a 3-span CCIS connection, so you can call between the old and the new system.
Until now, I've been quiet busy just to get the system going, calling all kinds of different combinations that users may be entering, LCR, and other basic functions.
But now I want to go beyond the point of users picking up the phone and dial. We had phone systems that could do that several decades ago.
What features you guys encountered that proved to be useful, liked by users, etc.
I have an AD64 voicemail; most of the phones on the 8500 are DT700 series SIP terminals. Otherwise it's a hotel environment where guest rooms have analog phones. We have purchased the OW5000 system, and are about to purchase the SDK development kit for custom applications. The phones and the system are not connected to the Internet, trunking is done with traditional T1/PRI connections.
I'm going to dive into the Feature Programming manual, but I want some brain-storming going here to get the most out of the system.
So, who is first?
