Is it okay to use a dump file from dsrepair as a nds backup?
Thnoss

Yes, but you may need to get the help from NTS to restore the dircetory if you even need to restore.

Thanks Provogeek for both responses.

I need to ask you a question, how could you get around a problem if you login script gets corrupt, is there a particular file your can restore that stores this info? This hasn't happened to me but I recently got an error message in nwadmin that the script could not be read, so I logged on as admin and then had no problems so it looks like it may just be a rights problem, but I am worried that there maybe something else happening!

Any advise would be great.
Keep well

Sounds like someone was logging in at the time and locked the script open. I've seen the same problem on my network where .pif files and .bat files are called from the login script and fail to exit.

If the script is locked, then RCONSOLE the server and look for a user that has a file SYS:_NETWARE something open. This will be the script.

If you can see the login script, I suggest backing these up to text files regularly as the script is in a hidded folder.
