I have Exchange 2003 Server Standard. I have a specific email address that's causing NDRs with Event ID 3008 in the Event Log. If the email communication is initiated at the other end, I can receive all emails and reply to emails.
But I get NDRs when I compose a fresh email to this address. There's nothing wrong with the recipients email (email from yahoo, hotmail this address works fine)
The NDR I get is as follows :
Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.
Subject: Something
Sent: 7/9/2007 4:08 PM
The following recipient(s) cannot be reached:
joe.someone@somewhere.com on 7/9/2007 4:11 PM
The e-mail system was unable to deliver the message, but did not report a specific reason. Check the address and try again. If it still fails, contact your system administrator.
<mail.ourdomain.com #5.0.0 smtp;550 5.0.0 Message Rejected>
I can ping the receiver's email server and nslookup works fine and I can telnet to their mail server as well without any issues. I have never seen this error before. Any ideas ?
Thanks,
Madhu
