I have just successfully completed the move form queue based printing to NDPS IP based. We are using NW 5.1 Sp 3
with Latest clients running on WIN NT/2K. Now i want to get the printers deployed through remote printer management which i can be done in NWadmin32. My concern is that when the printers are installed the name of the printers exceed eight characters, causing our Word Processing application (word Perfect 6.1) to fail. Is there a way to push all the printer to a workstation with e.g HP5000P format rather than \\LON_HP5000P.LON...... I can do this if i use NWPMW32.exe and change the name of the printer to 8 charactrs or less, but then half of the fun of using NDPS is gone.

If you wanted, you could put either another Organization or another OU below your Organization into the tree and put alias's into there. You could deploy from there? -----------------------------------------------------

Thanks for the instant reply TheLad. I'll look into the alias solution, and let you know of the results.
