Hi
I am trying to setup ndps printing on a netware 5.1 server. I have a hp3820 deskjet printer on a win 2000 workstation and want to set it up as a remote printer for everyone to use. Please help.
Alternatively, HP do a JetDirect External box which comes in USB or Parallel format. This box allows you to connect your USB or Parallel printer to it and you have a network connection out. It can be configured just like any normal JetDirect card.

Hi! I am relatively to Novell Administration
I am trying to migrate to NDPS printing
I already have the Manager and broker installed on the server but when I try to add a printer on the container using nwadmin32, it does not allow me to add NDPS printers (only non-NDPS printers)
Any tips about going around the problems.
Yes, it is
The manager and the broker are running as well
The previous admin had two agents installed (I can see them on the agent list) but I just cannot add the NDPS printer object in the container becuase it only gives non-NDPS printers at nwadmin32
I can see object classes when I am trying to add ( AFP server, Non-NDPS printer, and so forth) but I just do not have have an object called NDPS printer. That is the only object I do not have.
Anything I can do about that?
When you can't see the NDPS objects, it means the version of NWADMIIN you are running is not loading the NDPS snapins. When you install NDPS on the server, it should put the snapins in the correct place.
Are you running NWADMN32 from the PUBLIC\WIN32 directory?
Assuming your server has NDPS installed, if you install the latest service pack you should get the correct snapins installed. Does NDPS show up in the list of installed products? What OS and SPack are you on?
Firstly, you should create NDPS printer object in the tree even assigning any printer driver to the object. Then using nwadmin utillity add correct driver by NDPS Broker.
Connect your printer to workstation LPT port, log on to the NW server. Go to SYSUBLIC\WIN95 and lounch the nwprint.exe utillity. Chose BINDERY, select your print object from the list, OK. Now your printer become available for network user hwo has rights to printer object.
