I have attached an image to help with what I am trying to accomplish. I want to print on workstation B with workstation A's printer through NDPS. Is this possible is fo can you give me an idea of what I need to do.
You can't use NDPS to print to a local workstation printer. If you want to use NDPS, which is a great way of doing things, you need a printer with a Network card and an IP address.. Or you need a printer attached directly to the server via a parallel or serial cable.
You could buy an External Jet Direct print server and plug the printer into it, but doing it this way doesn't always work with some printers. Especially USB ones - I've had nothign but trouble with trying to use USB printers on Print server devices.
If you want to keep the printer plugged to the workstation, just share it from your other system and don't use NDPS. No it won't be as fun as NDPS.
Thank you for your time in replying to my post. I thought about one of those 802.11 print server deals, but I am not going to get it since usb gave you trouble.
I am 3 months new to NDS NDPS or novell in general. I have searched for forums to no avail most of them are abandoned and your questions never get answered so your knowlege is greatly apprecited.
I thought that iCapture was only for capturing an LPT port, similar to the way you would do it with Queue based printing way back when. If it could do this as well, that's a new one to me.
