Hello,

I am running NetWorker 6.1.3 Server on a Solaris 7 host that is backing up an Auspex NS2000 client (NDMP). The problem that I am having is with the restore functionality. When I launch nwrecover or recover and browse, the file owner and group are correct. After the files are restored back to the NS2000, the file owner and group are set to root and root. I called Legato Tech Support and opened a case a few months ago. They recommended we upgrad to NetWorker 6.1.3 to resolve this know bug. However, the upgrade didn't resolve. I am hopeful that the Forum can produce more fruitful results.

Thanks!

Mike

Hi Mike,

Try this:

- in NWAdmin select the ndmp client and then select EDIT.
- in the remote tab, at application Information field, write:

HIST=T
NO_ACLS=F
SNAPSHOT=T
FAST_INCREMENTAL=F

Try again to restore something, and let me know whats the results.

Thanks Eduardo,

Here is my current application Info.

HIST=y
SNAPSHOT=no
DIRECT=no
UPDATE=y

Should I leave this intact and make the additions/changes that you recommend?

Thanks,

Mike

Hi,

Change your current SNAPSHOT to: SNAPSHOT=F
Change your current DIRECT to: Direct=F
Change your current UPDATE to: UPDATE=T
And add the following:
HIST=T
NO_ACLS=F
FAST_INCREMENTAL=F

Try a backup and restore with this conf and let me know the results.
