Hi,
Some of the NAS share backup behave different way.Always the backup need manuall intervention.
When it runs the full backup it will start the full twice.
Once it completes the full and start over the full again.A this point backup stopped manually. But index is updated once full done.

Thanks,

Hi,

really hard to say why this is happening without seeing your logs and/or error messages. What you say is that the second attempt is successful? What happens if you change the nr of retries on the group level to 0 instead of 1 (I guess you have 1).

Can you see any errors in the logs after the first full backup?

Hi RIF123,

Thank for your reply.

There is no error. This happend only on full backup. all level backups goes smooth.Just does once and index.

One time full completed and message window displays full done gained 600GB. Then it strats again and write to other tape. At this point Index also updated (full done).

Then the backup stopped manually.

Hi RIF123,

if we let the backup run for second time it will completed successfully and done. Index shows full done twice.

Thanks

Hi,

I can't really say why this is happening if there are no errors. Consider to start the backup from commandline and add verbose to the command. That might give you an error message.

Could you also try to set the nr of retries to 0 and see if the backup actually reports as failed? Although there are no indications of a timeout, you could also try to increase the inactivity timeout on the group.

The offending filer, is it in its own group or does it share the group with others? I would recommend to have it in its own at the moment.

If you have a contract, you should run this by EMC support. They will probably have an answer for you. By the way, what version of NetWorker are we talking about?
