NDMP Cloning

Anyone out there doing NDMP cloning? I recently was allowed to buy a large quantity of tapes.. I was thinking of cloning my NDMP backups.. along with normal client based backups and trying to do a consolidated full. I have never done this before.. was wondering if anyone had any success with this.

My biggest fear is that I can only clone NDMP tapes inside of NDMP drives.. and thus I would be creating I/O on my ndmp server(NetApp).

As NDMP controls the drives, you can only to this at the filer (or perhaps to another filer) to another NDMP drive.

You can not automate NDMP cloning by setting the group option "automatic cloning". This will only start the "nsrcclone" program which is wrong for ndmp save sets.
Run "nsrndpm_clone" instead.

Do not forget that you must at least set NDMP verion 3 at the filer - previous versions do not even support NDMP cloning at all.
