Hi,

I've read Ndis is some sort of mini-port for internet use.
Windows help during a rencent shaky start-up event, pointed the finger at Ndis and the wave to close windows.

I removed the wave file association and attempted to create a second copy of Ndis to replace a faulty original. My attempt was less than sucessful. The second copy shows up in device manager with the yellow circle and exclaimation mark.

My question is, does Ndis serve a security or functionally purpose that I really need. If so, how can I re-install it without the device manager problems.

Thanks

Hi

NDIS is the standard for network card drivers in Microsoft networking environments, so that drivers for specific network cards will work with the operating systems and drivers.
You will need to get it working if you use any sort of networking facility within 95 or 98.
