I have this error that keeps popping up, does anyone know which ndd setting /variable could be causing this ??......

Sep 19 13:04:43 my.machine.com ip: [ID 766727 kern.warning] WARNING: The <if>:ip*_forwarding ndd variables are obsolete and may be removed in a future release of Solaris. Use ifconfig(1M) to manipulate the forwarding status of an interface.

Thanks

- Because of these messages, it triggers "page" (Internal process customer has) as if there is an issue. Date Modified: 2006-08-23 00:14:16 GMT+00:00

Work Around: - Do not run explorer or the command which triggers the messages Date Modified: 2006-08-23 00:14:16 GMT+00:00

Read the message! It says to use ifconfig(1M) to obtain the forwarding status of individual interfaces. Specifically, the ROUTING flag of individual interfaces tell you what their forwarding status is. Stop using ndd for this. Date Modified: 2006-08-31 00:43:24 GMT+00:00

Suggested Fix: Evaluation: Fixed by patch: Integrated in Build: Duplicate of: Related Change Request(s):Date Modified: 2006-08-31 00:43:23 GMT+00:00Public Summary:

Thankyou, we are indeed running explorer, maybe thats whats kicking off the messages. It mentions it was resolved in a patch ....does anybody know which patch to apply ??

any help on this would be greatly appreciated

No it wasn't fixed by a patch! Just my insertion of the message was terrible.

Look at Bug ID 6462820 on Sunsolve.
