I can't believe that the EMVs are so not reusable. For instance, if I am switching out one to a mobile unit, they verified that it would just be expensive trash. Why can they not be reprogrammed for different registers (even in the same location?)

Hi Carolyn,

Unfortunately they become expensive trash. We cannot mix the devices because they are on different platforms, and processors. If my memory serves, #6 is in Houston as well, and is in need of the upgrades as well. Which would have to take place before implementing any of our EMV solutions.

Subject: emv units

I need to order 2 mobile units for the drive thru at #6.

Question. If I replace the current emvs with the mobile. are they then expensive trash or what can I do with them?

Question. Or can they stay hooked up (i.e. 2 emvs on a register)

This is because the are programmed and encrypted before they are sent to you. They are locked to your processor.
