Hi just installed an NCP500 on analogue trunks!! for a customer. He complains of a 3 ring delay on incoming calls before they ring the first phone in the ICD group. No DISA in use is there any adjustment to minimise this delay it may be the CLI card. Any help Thanks
John

look under the card properties of the line card.

the caller id section there is where you adjust the time the card waits for cid i think from memory.
or just pull the cid card out if it isn't in use.

Thanks Shardian
I took the CLI OUS but still the delay. The system lights the line button straight away but the customer says the delay is not good enough so wants it shortened

If you go to the port properties of the LCOT card and scroll along there is an option for Caller ID Detection. If you disable this it should make the phones ring quiker.

The line button goes red because the system knows there is a call and is trying to receive the caller id

It takes at least 1-2 rings for caller id to come through.
But I agree, go to the LCOT Card properties (under 1.1) and near the bottom you'll see the settings. Play with them until the customer is happy!

Thanx a bunch!

if there is caller id on the line the fsk info comes in between the 1st and second ring and could very well be half way through the second ring before the first ring generation hits the first icd group member!

Also we are finding out that Verizon and Alltel have had issues on their Centrex lines. Caller will dial the number, caller hears 2 ring-back tones b4 the phone actually starts ringing, on top of that the Panasonic will light up the line-light on the phone before the phone rings (due to the caller-id process mentioned above). So the customer actually hears a total of three rings sometimes b4 the phone starts ringing. It Totally bites!

Good Luck I hope you have tracked it down by now, please let us know what happened...

Thanks Everybody
I an just using BT Direct Exchange Lines so the solution was to turn off the CLI.Just another reason to get the customer to use digital lines if they want CLI. And then we get our remote access to change the things the customer did not want at the pre installation stage but wants now.Fickle things customers
