I'm trying to install a DHLC4 card in a NCP1000 system. The red status light appears solid when the card is installed in the bottom 2 slots, but is green when installed in the top slot. Similarly, when installing an LCOT4 card, it shows red/orange status light in slot 1, but when installed in slots 2 or 3 it's green.

Is there a limitation on which cards can be installed in which slots?

PS: I'm installing the cards without accessing the maintenance console (just using status LED to test the cards). Is there something that needs to be done in the software to enable the cards to be installed in different slots?

You can only have one DHLC4 card on a NCP however your line card should go in on either slot.
There may be something preinstalled, get the software and look at the slots

Thank you. It's good to know that only one DHLC4 card is supported, as my intent was to expand us from 4 to 8 hybrid ports. Hopefully there is another option.

Thanks again,
Brandon

Hopefully there is another option - I thought an expansion cabinet should solve this.

No expansion cabinet on the ncp system. You could network a second cabinet but wouldn’t be classed as an expansion cabinet

You have 2 large card slots that will carry either digital oe analogue cards. Probably cheaper to swap out the system but you could add dsp card and have Ip phones

We decided to try buying the Panasonic KX-nt700 IP conference phone. The main reason we wanted more DHLC ports is for Polycom conference phones. The NT700 shows as compatible so hopefully it will work for expanding our conference phones.

You will need a dsp card and sip extension license for that on the NCP1000
