NCOS external call barring does not work on Option 11 1

Hi all,

I am trying to implement external call barring on an old Option 11c, using a FCR / NCOS (3). This is a default FCR, set up with INIT = DENY, ALOW = 999 (emergency calls). External calls (leaving the PBX) are initiated by dialling 9, then the external number.

By changing a phone to NCOS 3, that should then restrict the phone from dialling external numbers, correct? I have implemented this on an Option 81, and it worked fine. However, it does not work on the 11. Can you please tell me if this may be related to the package levl on the 11? What overlays will tell me the Package level?

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

YOU NEED TO CHECK THE RLB FOR YOUR LOCAL CALLING, IT HAS TO BE DIFFERENT FROM THE 81C. GO TO LD 90 AND DO A PRT ON A NXX, SEE WHAT RLI IS ASSOCIATED WITH THAT ENTRE. THEN GO TO LD 86 AND PRT THAT RLI, SEE WHAT THE FRL IS. ANYTHING LOWER THAN THAT WILL BE UNABLE TO DIAL LOCAL

I tried the steps suggested, and everything checked out OK. Only when I physically monitored the users did I find out what was going on.

I found the problem was that the users were using an unauthorised AUTH code, which over-rode the telset Class of Service settings. I resolved the problem by changing the AUTH codes, (and warning their users not to reveal them) and using CLS = SRE to semi-restrict the set from dialling external numbers.
