NBX V5000 6.5.22

384M licensed and installed.

18 3com phones (1 with an attendant console) and 2 cordless via a 3c10117 Terminal Card

5 analog phone lines (Comcast Biz) in 2 3c10114 cards. Have a spare analog card as well installed.

All in a single gateway chassis.

Auto Discovery turned off

-----

Phone system randomly locks up as follows.:

No incoming calls are answered by the AA
Outgoing PSTN calls go through fine
Internal calling is fine
NBX web interface does not respond/load
You can successfully ping the LAN IP of the NBX
A port scan shows 21, 23, and 80 (HTTP) as valid and responding
The console port does respond to commands
No errors are thrown to the console or to the NBX Event Log
SNMP and SYSLOG disabled

-----

I have to power cycle the call processor to bring it back to normal. It would run between 1-4 hours and lock up again.

I installed a new UPS on a different power circuit to make sure it wasn't power related.

I tested the phone lines with a digital butt set and they were solid. I also have 3 fax lines that don't run through the NBX and they have no issues either.

I replaced the gateway chassis with another unit. No change.

Then I backed up the config and VM from the questionable call processor and restored it in another unit on 6.5.22 as well.

All ran well for 4 days and then the replacement locked up.

The only thing I haven't changed are the 4 cards in the gateway chassis. I can do this but the location is 3 hours away. This setup hasn't had any issues since installed a few years ago.

----

Has anyone seen these symptons before?

Any suggestions?

Anyone know the console commands to reboot the system?

Thanks in advance!!!

Do you know what the patch is called?

Thanks again.

I'm in the process of trying to get this patch from HP right now, it's easier said than done as my NBX's are out of warranty.
