I have upgraded the memory on my NBX 3000 and upgraded to 6.5.18 and was going to throw the switch to move it to SIP mode so that I can add non-3com phones such as the newer fancy Polycom conference phones when I get this message:

If SIP is enabled,
the following legacy NBX devices will be unavailable
Extension Device Name Type Address User
*** Trunk TRUNK 00:e0:bb:11:5b:60
*** Span_1 PRI Span [1]
754 Line Card Port TLIM 00:e0:bb:05:4f:da
755 Line Card Port TLIM 00:e0:bb:05:4f:d7
756 Line Card Port TLIM 00:e0:bb:05:4f:d9
757 Line Card Port TLIM 00:e0:bb:05:4f:d8

329 ATA ATA 00:e0:bb:01:0d:df Front Reception
*333 ATA ATA 00:e0:bb:01:0d:e0 New User
*339 ATA ATA 00:e0:bb:01:0d:e1 New User

Just to make sure I am reading this right, will my T1 card, built in CO ports and add on ATA card not work if I switch to SIP mode?

Do I have to buy new cards? I read something about rev D cards and see at least one PRI 'D' card for sale on Ebay.

Thanks in advance for any help.

No they should still work. they will need and IP and I believe you need to add it as a trusted endpoint

If you are moving to the 6.5 code base, you should be running 6.5.22.
6.5.18 has issues with transfer to voicemail, and others.

I have not had issues with the built in FXO/FXS modules.

Here is a list of supported Gateway modules for 6.5 SIP mode.
NBX Analog FXO Line Card 3C10114C
NBX T1/PRI Card 3C10116D
NBX Analog Terminal Card 3C10117C
NBX BRI-ST Card 3C10164D-ST
NBX E1/PRI Card 3C10165D

Here are the 3Com phones that will work in SIP mode.
NBX Devices Part Number
2102B/PE Business Phone 3C10225B/PE or 3C10228IRB/PE
2101B/PE Basic Phone 3C10238B/PE (Legacy)

3108 Wireless Phone 3C10408A

I tested yesterday morning and the built in devices came up properly as expected but the ATAs on the external chassis and the T1 card did not come up. I have ordered replacements with the right revisions. I will post back when I have completed the transition with the new equipment.

I have received the replacement hardware 3C10117C and 3C10116D and they are working properly. Now I need to get the Polycom IP7000 connected and, surprise surprise the admin manual for the NBX does not match the screens I see in Netset, but I will start a separate thread. Thanks to all that helped.

J.
