Hello,

In our company we use Navision and Crystal Reports. The combination Navision Database and Crystal Reports doesn't support outerjoins. U can understand this to be a problem in many occasions.
Previous year we used Corvu instead of Crystal Reports. In Corvu it is possible to get 2 or more datasets from your database and save them as different subsets. In Corvu you could (outer)join the subsets. In that way, is was possible to outerjoin.
Is there a possibility with Crystal Reports to do the same? Is there, for instance, a Crystal-module that allows me to join 2 or more datasets that are retrieved from the database through different queries, instead of retrieving data from the database in one single query?

Jeroen Boon.

What type of data is Navision, and are you connecting to the database with a native driver or an ODBC driver?

In a Btrieve/Pervasive environment (and a few others I am sure) crystal is limited to equal joins if you use a native rather than an ODBC connection. Software Training and Support for Macola, Crystal Reports and Goldmine

dgillz,

We are using an ODBC connection that is provided bij Navision. It is a known problem and it is not that there is a bug in the ODBC.

The Corvu (Graphical Analysis) I am talking about, is some kind of program to retrieve info from a database. Apart from that there is a module named Report Writer. So I was wondering if the Corvu Report Writer is something like Crystal Report and that we now need something like the Corvu Graphical Analysis-module.

Greetings,
Jeroen Boon.

Procided that you have the developer edition of Crystal, you can use crystal SQL designer to pull the data, then write your rports from the .qry files. Does that help?

Also, have you tried the Navision forum? Software Training and Support for Macola, Crystal Reports and Goldmine
