Hello,

I have a Citrix MetaFrame XP SP1 on a Win2K server and everything is working well.
I just add NaVision Attain, an ERP Client, that is working only with one user !! >:):O> I explain :

When one user is using the application everything is ok, but when a second user wants to use this application, an error message appear just after the creation of the help index, saying "the file fin.hmt already exist". The apps doesn't want to work anyway !!

I tried to change temp path, and to verify where the file is stored (in each user profile)...

Any ideas ?

Did you install the application either via Add/Remove Programs, or by putting the server into install mode at the command prompt?

Try de-installing the application, then re-installing using one of these two methods.

My favoured is the latter.

I hope this helps CitrixEngineer@yahoo.co.uk

I install it using Add/remove program.
The install file is a MSI.

still have no response from navision support !! what a mess !

I don't know much about Navision, but I'll bet that fin.hmt is being placed in the same temp file as everyone. I'm assuming the settings for the temp folder are stored in an INI file.

1. Find out where fin.hmt is created.
2. Then search for an INI file that contains that temp path.
This INI file should be in each users profile.
3. If it is in each user's profile, you would have to modify the INI file so that each user's INI file would have a unique temp file.

Let me know if that helps.

you can also rig it by copying that htm file to different directories and publishing the app several times.

The file fin.hmt is located in a subdirectory of the client program install path (c:\program files\navision\client\fra).

It seems that the file is copied to the temp directory of each user when they connect to the published application. I use a special parameter at the end of the command line to call the program throught citrix : temppath=%TMP% where %TMP% is the environment variable that point to the the temp of the user profile (c:\documents and settings\userxx\local settings\temp)
So the file is copied in this directory, and so the each user has its own temp directory.

There is also an ini file for each user called fin.zup, and it is located in the user profile (c:\documents and settings\userxx\application data\fin.zup). It conatains the good temp path...

It still doesn't work, same error message...

I am having the same problem. Redirecting the temppath and the ID doesn't work! Navision had mentioned that it was due to the time zone settings but i don't agree, I have both servers in the same time zome and still get the error
Please let me know if you find a resolution to this

Ok i think i have the solution!!
I just got off the phone with Navision-us

1__ Conferm that citrix and navision servers are in the same time zone (and have the same daylight savings settings)

2__ Redirect the Temppath and the ID: Refer to document ID 11963 on navision's site (I have found this to be the best method with citrix)

3__ Make sure that citrix is not set to use client time zone settings (this is a setting under metaframe settings)

4__ REBOOT the navision, citrix and client computers

hope it helps
feel free to let me know if you have other questions

Thanks for all your answers, but I think I have THE solution. My dealer just sent me the new version NaVision Attain Client 3.10A !
It's working really well ! Just install this app like all the others under citrix environment, and it's ready to work !!!

You may contact your NaVision dealer to get Attain Client upgrade. The french version is already realeased, so I think any other languages are available...

Enjoy

Question to br0ck
At what adress did you find Navision support documents on their site? I have been looking for online support on their sites but haven´t been able to find it. Is the information publically available or do you have to get a partner-login to access it?

I work for a Navision Solution Center and have a login
There isn't much public info for Navision, these fourms are the best for info. Brock D. Mowry,MCP
