Hi,

I'm having a hard time figuring out where to put some navigation links, and I was wondering if anyone had some advice. The template I'm working on is at

It's just a jpg on the page, so nothing works yet. Anywho, the "About Us" and "Our Seals" sections have three subsections each:

About Us:
- ISO 9000:2000
- The E.S. Dygert Company Team
- A Message from the President

Our Seals
- Seal Silhouettes, Descriptions & Manufacturers
- Seal Application Data Sheet
- Search

The other sections don't have subsections. Anyone have any suggestions as to where I could put them? Also, if anyone has any other general comments about the design, I'd appreciate those as well.

Thanks,

Misty

I really like the design. I'd say to either put the sub menu in the white space under the main menu after

drop downs...|

I am considering drop-down menus. Even if I do choose to use them, though, I also like to include secondary text menus in case the user is using a really old browser or if they have JavaScript turned off (in that case, they wouldn't be able to get to the subsections at all, besides through the site map). It's hard to find a place for them, though, that looks good.

Hi,

I played around with it a little more, and this is what I came up with.

I was thinking of doing some drop-downy rollovers like those at

For the ones without submenus, it's just be the normal page without the blue. What do you guys think?

Interesting idea...not quite what I had envisioned, but I think it works. I think, though, that the whole site would look better if you put a 1px black border around every edge that touches the white content area.

I'm still working on what to do with the rest of the white space outside of the main page area. I think I'll probably just end up with a darker blue on the bottom, and then play with the angle theme a little bit on the righthand side. But we'll see. Any suggestions are welcome. ;)

I like the way you did that. :) I don't know if you are concerned with this or not, but on a 800x600 display, that jpg forces me to scroll a little. You might want to take that in to consideration when doing the actual design.

Unless you did it just for viewing here..... your page has no content, its all graphic. Was that your intent?

That was just a template to see so we could all give ideas about how to do the menu.

Kjonnnn - I hadn't put it into HTML yet, no. I was just working on the template in Photoshop.

Michael - I'm going to set the width on the table to about 750 once I get it transferred to HTML.

Thanks,

Misty

Setting the width of the table to 750px is fine, but an alternate idea to consider is setting the width to 100% and sticking an image wtih heigh:1px;width:750; as the first thing in the table. That way, it could expand for your users with larger resolutions and it would still never shrink below the 750 for people who have their browsers not set to full width.
