I have a nav bar that is include on every page of a site.

In the past, I used ssi to include a file that listed all the links. It was easy to update 1 file and have the results trickle down to each page.

Is this still the best way to do this? I thought I'd check with the group and see if there is a better way to do this.

Thanks!!

Yup. Still the best. Some might disagree in favor of frames though, but I strongly believe it is the best.

Great. I guess it is still true that the source pages have to be .stm pages. No I remember why I stopped doing it that way. I have some pages that are .cfm and some .asp in addition to mt regular .htm pages.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks!

well, it's still the "best" method, if you don't have access to php, asp, coldfusion, or jsp. if, however, you do, then methods utilizing their built-in functions are just as effective.

AFAIK, asp uses regular SSI to include files. So I suppose .asp extension is parsed for SSI. As for the ColdFusion, you should do what Cory suggests: find out if CF has it's own include command, similar to php.
