Seems we have a w2000 managed client whose daily scan freezes since performing the latest "WIndows update" from Microsoft.

When it stops, it is at VD10DA54.VDB and virusscan7.dat.

Any significance here?

Also, if Systemworks recommends replacing the
MAPISRVR.EXE in the system32 folder, because it cannot access GAPI32.dll, what is the easiest way to do this?

Thanks

I've run into the same MAPISRVR.EXE error running Systemworks on my XP system. This is a problem with Symantec's Windoctor, not the MAPISRVR file. Here is a link to the solution, which essentially is: copy the GAPI32.DLL fuile into \windows32\system directory or tell WINDOCTOR to ignore the error when it pops up.

Correction to above:

windows\System32\ folder

Sorry bout that... finger distortion....
