NAV won't run in Safe Mode

I have identified several virus's and part of the removal process was to run NAV in Safe mode, all attempts fail as NAV will not run in Safe Mode (PIII Gateway Pesario, XP Home)
Is my only other option to low level F-it and start anew?

Try other utilities : AVG For virii etc

Norton has limited capabilities in safe mode as do many anti virus programs ....

Try Sysclean from Trend

http://www.antivirus.com

along with the latest pattern file and vCleaner from Grisoft

http://www.grisoft.com

as well as spybot 1.3 and adaware se, both with the latest updates
