I recently installed NAV 8.0 on my W2K server which is also my NAV server. I update my virus definitions though this server to my workstations which are all running XP. How do I change the scheduled scan for the default (Sunday 12 am) to some other time? It says that this has been down with admin account and locked out. I've log into the server with my admin account and its still locked. There is no other login into NAV besides the symantec password protection. Thanks all

I believe that I am having the same problem, and the first response did not answer it.

I have a scheduled scan commencing at 8pm every day. I would love to reschedule or delete this schedules item. However, when I am logged in as administrator, I am still prevented from changing the item due to insufficient rights. Is there a workaround/hack for this?

You should be able to do it from the SSC. You don't do it from clicking on the shield icon.

Right click on the server/all tasks/anti virus. There you can set/change the scheduled scan. I'm not at my office so I can't give you the exact name. But it is in that area. The inital scan that NAVCE sets up is the administrator scan.

I don't have the SSC installed...

I could not even uninstall NAV - I was prompted for a password. However, the password "symantec" worked. I found the advice on another website. I have finally liberated my PC from the daily 2 hours of scanning :)

I'm glad you got it sorted out. My response was actually geared towards newmanyoug. He is in a server environment. Apparently from your response you aren't. So, while you're problems were similar, the solution would be different because of your environment.

Sorry for any confusion my reply caused.

I would recommend however, that you do have a daily scan run, just at more convenient time. In today's world, you can't be too careful!

Thanks for the reply... but I still can't change my schedule scans in Norton Corporate edition. Maybe other configuration menu.

newmanyoung, you can only change the scheduled administrative scan from the SSC. Do you have that installed? It seems you are trying to do from the console after double clicking on the shield icon. (saying you use the symantec password makes me think this.)

What go4 said is the case. You need to unlock the server group from the SSC. If you want to change it at the console, or you can just change the schedule from SSC. Either way you need the SSC.
