I have NAV for Exchange 2.18 on my Exchange 5.5 SP4/NT4 SP6 server. One of my users has a bunch of e-mails in her mialbox with .doc files attached. Every time NAVMSE scans her mailbox, I get multiple error e-mails stating the following:
************************
Sender of the attachment: user@domain.com
Recipient of the attachment: Internal User\Inbox
Subject of the message: subject
No action was taken on the attachment.
Attachment 2001.doc was Logged Only for the following reasons:
Scan Engine Failure (0x80004005)
Scan Engine error in opening a compressed file.
************************
Names and addresses are changed to protect the innocent.
Before I upgraded to 2.18 (I was using 1.5), I never seemed to have this problem. In fact, after I upgraded, I had to apply a registry hack from Symantec to force NAVMSE to only log these files instead of quarantining them (I have, by the way, confirmed with the user that they are valid, clean files).
I couldn't find any reason in Symantec support as to why this was occurring. What can I do to fix the problem, besides excluding .doc files in Global Options?
