NAV alerts that it has found certain adware (Cydoor, GAIN, & Ezula) but deletion of threats fails. NAV run under Safe Mode fails to even find these adware threats. Symantec's specific adware removal tools for each of these threat fails to even find the adware.

So, do I really have these adware threats on this comp?

I cannot find them manually, and they do not show up on NAV under safe mode nor do specific removal tools find them.

Running NAV Ver8.02 as part of NSW 2005. This comp's OS is WinXP Home SP2, all other machines are XP Pro. While probably unrelated, this problem has not been found on the XP Pro machines.

Thanks,
DJ

NAV is probably the lamest excuse ever for a spyware/adware removal tool. Try using some real tools. You'll find links in this forum to things like SpyBot, Ad-Aware, Ewido, Microsoft Antispyware, SpySweeper.

Ad-Aware seems pretty good. Would not recomend Spy Hunter, since it showed up itself as spyware.
