Installing NAT on windows 20000 advanced server. It was installed correctly before by a friend, and then I Installed firewall it destoryed the network settings. Now instead of the boxes using a 192.168.1.* ip it using 169.254.140.231 with a gateway of 255.255.0.0, and i am not sure how to get it back to the 192.168.1.* with gateway of 255.255.255.0 and to link it back up to the dsl connection
any kinda guide/or link to how to restore settings to 3days ago(had not saved current config so not sure if 2000 can do like XP)

thanks

Strang3,
169.254.x.x is an IP address that Windows computers self generate when a they are configured to use DHCP and no DHCP server is available on the network. Run “ipconfig /all” from a command prompt and determine which NIC needs configuring. Hard code your NIC with the IP you want and test again.
