Greetings All,

We're evaluating the Barracuda Spam Firewall and I was trying to figure out how to work it into our Firebox III 1000.

Currently have 1to1 NAT working fine with our Exchange server.
So with the new appliance in the network:
Watchguard IP is: 208.x.x.130
Email comes in on: 208.x.x.131
Mail server private IP: 10.x.x.30
Barracuda private IP: 10.x.x.31

Would port forwarding incoming on port 25 to 10.x.x.31 while keeping the 1to1 NAT between 208.x.x.131 & 10.x.x.30 work?

Thanks,

Firebox p25 -> Barracuda p25 -> Exchange server

So you would have in your smtp proxy the internal ip address to your Barracuda.

One other thing you might consider:

Watchguard, at one time, had an upgrade program wher eyou would trade in your old hardware and you would get the latest hardware for only the cost of the software. I suggest this as you need to consider the yearly subscription fees for the barracuda.

Plus, if you did upgrade the firebox to, say an x750a running firewire pro, this would give you the UTM package and 300 ssl vpn licenses.

Why don't you look at upgrading the firebox to a newer Watchguard that has SpamBlocker?
