hi
i am from austria (where Arnold is from ;-) and i have a problem with win2003
i allready asked in german forums - but nobody could answere my question.

so - pls try to help me!
excuse my bad english - but i try to improve ;-)

my problem:

i have a alcatel speed touch modem with ip: 10.1.5.1
i have a server with 2 networkcards ( OUT 10.1.5.2 and IN 10.1.4.1)
i can connect to the internet and my DNS (which i get from ISP works fine)

now i want to connect to the internet over the server

so i point my Gateway of the clients to 10.1.4.1 and i get through the server to the modem
BUT i cant resolve DNS server!

that means i can ping the modem from each client, but cant ping the dns server the modem gets from the ISP

a german professional told me that i have to set the right NAT settings in the windows 2003 server

so - could you help me pls?

i am trying for hours without a success.

thx

Hi Alex,

You need to install and setup NAT service which is in Routing and Remote Access in order to have your private clients going through the public interface.
