hi,

I am using a 1720 router and got just one public ip adress.

I am using the nat to permit the local network accessing INTERNET witout problem.

My question is:
I want to permit an internal host to act as web and email server.

is there a way to use the public ip (NAT OUTSIDE)or may be redirecting ports to permit a host(with private ip adress) to act as server ?

very easily...

first example.. i have a dynamic ip so i nat port 80 just to the interface.. the nat will take whatever public ip you have in this case when it makes the translation

ip nat inside source static tcp X.X.X.X 80 interface Dialer1 80

So in this example.. X.X.X.X is my internal IP, and Dialer1 is my external interface...

in the case where you have a static ip on your public interface...

ip nat inside source static tcp X.X.X.X 80 Y.Y.Y.Y 80 extendable

so X.X.X.X being your internal ip
and Y.Y.Y.Y being your external public IP.

just be sure if you have any inbound access lists that you allow port 80...

hope that helps..
