I use NAT for my VMWare workstation machines. Usually it works, but sometimes I get problems... After I have disconnected and reconnected to the internet from the Host a few times the NAT stops working! I have internet on my host. But the guests don't have internet anymore. If it's relevant I'm using a dial up internet connection.

Is there anything I can do to get the NAT working again? Without restarting. Is there even something I can do to prevent this problem from occuring in the first place?
The host OS is Windows XP home
The guest OS's are Windows 2000 professional

Releaseing the IP didn't do anything. It said something about no network card being active.
The same thing was true on the host.
I am connecting through a USB-modem. I don't know if that is different from "normal" connections.

Restarting VMWare didn't work.
Restarting the guests didn't work.
Restarting the internet connection didn't work.

Here is the result from ipconfig on the host. I will be SO happy if you can read anything from this and help me find a solution.

Standard-gateway . . . . . . . . : 83.188.192.204

when I enter ipconfig /renew and /release I get messages the medium for the local network is disconnected.

Here is an ipconfig from a guest:
Kort: Ethernet Anslutning till lokalt nätverk 2:

Anslutningsspecifika DNS-suffix . : localdomain

Nätmask . . . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Standard-gateway . . . . . . . . : 192.168.145.2

If there is ANYTHING I can do on thehost to prevent or fix this w/o restarting it will make my life so much easier!

Thanks for having taken your time to read this! If you come something up please tell me!

It seems like when this happens the guests stay connected to already running internet connections. But no new connections can be started. In other words, applications that are already running keep being able to use the internet. But when I start a new application it can't connect. In the meanwhile, on the host everything is normal.

This happens every day and if it keeps happening it will eat a lot of my time.
