NAT Based on IP Availability

Hi there.

I'm trying to solve the following problem...

I want to translate the destination ip address of a packet leaving my network to value 10.1.1.1 but only IF the destination address is available. If it is not available I want to translate it to value 10.1.1.2.

I was thinking about using and IP sla to track the availability of the destination but am unsure how to alter the nat rule based on the outcome.

Please help.

Why not just make a NAT pool made up of the two addresses? It will choose the first if it is available, and if not it will go to the second.

NAT is a highly complex subject in terms of the amount of options that are available. Not sure how to address what you are specifically referring to. Likely there are many options that will work. For a good guide as to what can be done with NAT, check out this page:
