Hi all,
I have a Procom NAS (Network Attached Storage) on my network and I have BAB r11.1 installed. While according to the manual I have to have NDMP option installed and my backup server configured to do NAS NDMP backup, I notice I am also able to make backups of my NAS volumes by simply browsing the network on my BAB server and choosing the NAS as backup source. I am wondering what difference it makes to do it from the network or use the NDMP backup option?
Thanks

Procom NAS does not support NDMP does it? So it really does not matter, but NDMP has ARCserve as the schedualer. It tells the NAS box to do the backup and the NAS box via NDMP does a dump to tape. It is a faster backup than via network.
