Would anyone know of a way to name the tape to be the date of backup? I dont use the GFS option, but I use rotation and a pool is set up for the backup.
I want to name the backup to be the date of when the job runs, but I dont know if there is an option to use any variables or something else for that.

By defualt if the tape is blank media(erased) arcserve will format it and put the tape name as current date.

Thanks four your repply.

I use a rotation scheme and the tape name is by default the day of the week but not the full date. I understand that if I enable GFS it will use the <auto name> function to name the tapes but not in this case. My question is: is there a way to dinamicaly influence the tape naming to be "weekday-dd-mmm-yy"

Thanks
