Named Range -> image.gif

I'm trying to generate a .gif imaage from a named range. Looking at method Range.CopyPicture it only appears to generate a .bmp output.

To generate a .gif from a chart I'm using:-

ActiveChart.ChartArea.Select
ActiveChart.Export FileName:="ChartX.Gif", FilterName:="Gif"

which works well. Is there something similar for Ranges?

It doesn't work today.
