Hi all,

I am trying to run named, but just have a question that may seem obvious to most people, but ....

When configuring named, should the IP addresses specified in my domain database file (for name to ip mapping) be my box's local IP and/or my remote IP (on the internet)?

Should this also be refected in the localhost.rev / reverse lookup database?

not necessarily.. for instance, u may help your friend out by hosting his domain for him, but he would like to host the web server that will serve his domain's web site in another country, on another IP address... all u would do is setup the databse as normal in your server, but create an entry for his to point to the IP address in the other country... all other data may reflect your own machine.. such as the name servers authoritative for your pal's domain....

i hope this helps..
