Hello,

I have a small but annoying problem with Server name resolution when connected with MS-PPTP to a Windows 2003 server through an ASA5510. I'm able to ping and access shares by IP but server name resolution doesn't work. How can I get this working?

Thanks,

hi,
you can sepecify your internal dns and wins name server ip address in vpn configuration so when client will connect, they will use your internal dns and wins for name resolution and they will able to connect through the name.

the sample config is as below for vpn group.

group-policy vpngroup internal
group-policy vpngroup attributes
wins-server value xxx.xxx.xxx.xx yy.yyy.yyyy.yyyy ( internal Winsips)
dns-server value xxx.xxx.xxx.xx yy.yyy.yyyy.yyyy ( internal dns ips)
default-domain value abc.dom (internal domain name)

Hope it will resolve this issue.
