m2616 I programmed keys with DID's and the matching Company name, so depending on which # is called, receptionist can answer in that company name when it is called.

But no name is appearing on the screen, the phone just rings??

I would set up an IDC table for the incoming calls on the inbound route. The IDC entries would be the same but that allows you to then go to ld 95 cpnd and define the names by IDC table and entry. Then when a call comes in on the route, the IDC table is referenced, which then has a CPND assigned and displays the inbound CPND information. I think the way it is setup now will only show the names when that phone makes a call to other internal extensions.

the display would show who is calling not which number or company they called. The receptionist could have a list on their desk showing which key corresponds to which company name.

Little confused, I setup IDC entrries all the time. We have a web site that list several hundred products. The caller dials a toll free number and enters the 4 digit code. We get the 4 digits and using IDC and CPND, our acd agents will see the caller's number along with the CPND of the Product from the 4 digit code. We have also set this up on our LEC DID routes for those who direct dial into the PBX. The extension they dial, with an IDC and CPND, will show the caller id and the CPND of the IDC entry. Would this not allow every call (in the example) for 3631 to show properly on any of the keys in hunt (if the 3631 line was already in use)? Thanks

Took my 3rd phone which has ext 6888 as key 0. ld 49 chg idc 0 for 6888 to 6888. went to ld 95, name, new, at dcno entered my 0 and at idc entered 6888, system prompted name and i entered Tek Tips. I then called from my 1st phone NPA-NXX-68888 and the 3rd phone rang and displayed Tek Tips -6888.
When i call from the 3rd phone to the 1st phone, it does not show Tek Tips, it shows my name and 4 digit extension.
I made this brief, i know the perils of making changes to idc tables while assigned to a working route, so we have 2 idc tables per route (active inactive)

PMcCallum50:

Ive done the Ld 49 and ld 95 entries, however still no name display, Ive got cpna in cls.

In LD 95, you say idc=6888, however 0-254 is valid.

Am I doing something wrong here ?

No Luck with DNDD either.

Here is my LD 95 and LD 49, and the phone:

this phone is still DNDA. Did you change it to DNDD and then change it back?

Yes.... changed it back, no go either way.

it sounds like you're not seeing what you're looking for when the call terminates on a key besides key zero. If so, try changing your CLS from ADD to TDD. then if key 0 is busy and another call comes in the caller ID will update automatically. Hope this helps.

Youre onto something.... with tdd , at least now I am seeing 8000-2-3904, still no name but now some digits appear.

Couple of things - Your incoming route must specify the IDC table you will be using.
Next, the IDC table (DCNO 0) should have the following:
3631 3631
6528 6528
6529 6529
Last, ld 95, new, name, hit enter until you get DCNO, enter 0, then at IDC, enter 3631 (or 6528 or 6529) and type the corresponding name entries to each idc.
Essentially, here's what will occur, a call coming in with 3631 will reference the idc table on that route. With 3631 as an entry, it will look at ld 95 for the name to display when the call is presented on key 1 for 3631 etc.

Here is my LD 95, I just re-entered:

BUT WHEN I DIAL THE # (FROM A CELL PHONE), DISPLAY STILL SHOWS 8000-2-3904... STILL NO NAME.

IS IT POSSIBLE MY iNCOMING ROUTE DOES NOT MATCH UP TO THE IDC TABLE? WHERE DO I CHECK THAT?

i ALSO TRIED PLACING 3904 ON KEY 0, BUT SAME RESULTS.

REQ

while looking for something unrelated to your question in LD 16 in my NTP I found something that *MAY* help. Did you set DNAM to YES on the route? The NTP says DNAM (NO) YES which means default is no. This says Display IDC name. Could this be what you're missing? i hope so for your sake.

Coniglio:

Checkd my rote 0 and dnam=no

Im new with rdb... but can i just do ld16, chg, rdb etc...

if i do that can i just hit ENTER thru all prompts to get to DNAM, or do I need to re-Enter each prompt as it comes up.

Thanks Larry

Yes, you can do a change to the RDB in LD16 "on the fly".
Just step trough the promts till you get to the right one, and enter your value (yes) and continue stepping trough to the end.
Changes are applied as soon as you get to the bottom of the list of promts and get a REQ reply.

Please let us know when you get this working and if it is what you wanted.

Thanks

Thank You
