We have 2 BCM 400 4.0 machines with centralized VM MCDN keycodes and it all works except I'm not sure if the name display will work between the 2 sites.

Does it just send the # or can the name be displayed somehow?

Using SIP trunks between the 2 sites.

If so what am I missing
Thanks

In Config - Telephony - General, there is an area to enter the business name... eight characters max.

You may want to name your business so the eighth character is a space. Then when the intercom call flows across the VoIP, there is a space between the business name and the station name, otherwise the business name and station name shows up with no space between them.

I can see the ext # but what I want is to be able to see the persons name display such as "John".

Is that possible?

Have you named the set as 'John' instead of, say, 2233?

If you want the name you assigned to the DN to display as well as the business name and extension number, go to Resources>Telephony Resources, select your PRI bus. On the main screen (Trunk Module Parameters) there is a check box called "send name display". Make sure it's checked. If it doesn't work, you will have to contact your PRI provider and make sure they are capable of passing it. DMS can handle it ok but some older ESS switches can't but it's rare these days.

Let us know if it fixes the problem.

Sorry I haven't replied but have been busy.

The phones are programmed with the names such as "John"

I have the MCDN keycode and that works OK.

The lines going across are SIP trunks not PRI, but maybe in resources there is a send name display checkbox for the SIP trunks. Pretty sure I've checked every setting everywhere but I can't remember. If it is there I will check when I go back. It's been a while since I was there.

The question is will the BCM support call name display across the SIP trunks?
You would think it would but???

Will let you know.

Yes it does. At least to a PBX.

Check the IP Trunk Settings tab.
Everything should be checked there except "Ignore in-band DTMF in RTP".

Have you used BCM Monitor at all?

You should be able to expand the messages and see if you are sending/receiving the display information.
