Hi All.

I have a question. A customer has said that when they call another person in a different office via 4 digit dialling, the wrong customer name shows up... it shows the name of the previous extension owner.

I have checked and made sure the proper name shows under Telephony -> Sets, and there is no name attached to the target line.

The name is only 7 characters in length, with no special characters.

Does anyone know why the old name would be showing up? I have read threads where people were talking about an "old phonebook"????

I checked at the receiving end, and there are no names, just the default LineXXX in the name under Telephony -> Lines -> Target Lines.

Any other ideas ... the only thing I can think of is the telco has something being sent from the CO switch.

What BCM is it ? Release ? Are they using SIP or H323 trunks between the sites ?
 
Hi there.

Found out what the trouble was; apparently the user who had made the complaint on the receiving end had an entry for that extension, with the old name, programmed into the phone.

Hence, when the new person called, they got the old name. They took the entry out and got the correct information.
