I referenced a subreport control to get it's value on the main report (in hopes of tranferring that to another subreport).

I tried all sorts of things:

=Reports!plan_report.Reports!dd_report![2005overflow]
=Reports!dd_report![2005overflow]

None of which seem to be working. What can I do to get the value of the dd_report to show up on the main report (and ultimately the coins_report subreport)?

Is there a trick or something?

Hi!

You can use the DLookUp function using the recordsource of the subreport for your domain. Could you post the name of the report, the name of the SubReport Control on the main report and the name of the control on the subReport that you are trying to access.

Yes, I can.

The report - plan_report
the subreport control on the main report is 2005overflow
the name of the control on the subreport is 2005overflow

Thanks!

Okay melaniehayes!

Here is how you refer to a control on a subreport:

Reports![plan_report]![2005overflow].Report![2005overflow].Value

This will return the value in that control on the subreport

Okay, so I changed my control in the main report to

Reports![plan_report]![2005overflow].Report![2005overflow].Value and when I run the report it opens for less than a second and the whole program closes.

Now I'm really confused! Or was this supposed to go on the sub-report that I originally wanted to show up from the other subreport?

Thanks jebry!

Nevermind, I got it!!! Thank you for helping me and making me realize what I'd be doing wrong.

I have used the following to reference the subreport's control named 2005overflow:

=dd_report.Report![2005overflow] as a control on the main report. Works great!
