Hi,
We are running Windows XP and Office XP. When making changes to a document in WORD and trying to save, one user is being made to change the file name to something else. We now have many copies of some documents and it is getting time consuming removing old versions and renaming the newest version so that all users are still accessing the document according to the proper file name. This does not happen to all users, mainly one person.
Any ideas? The properties do not show the file as read-only but it seems that way when he is using the files.

Thanks so much

The main protagonist that causes this is Norton Anti Virus. Is NAV installed or has it ever been installed on the PC affected?

If NAV is installed, disable the Office Plugin under Advanced Option in NAV.
