Hope someone can help...

I have several fields from a database I need to write as a name and address in a form letter. The fields are:
Name
Addr1
Addr2
City
State
Zip

My first question is, how can I write a formula to include all of these fields with carriage returns between them, so they don't all run together in one line?

The secons question: Sometimes Addr 1 or Addr2 is blank. If so I want to omit it and not show a blank row in the printed address. How can I do that?

Any help is greatly appreiciated.

Thanks

Craig

Dear Craig,

You dont need a formula, but what you need to do is create a blank text object (label), and insert each database field, one at a time, by dragging them into the text object.

First, drag the name in, then put in a carriage return, add1, then another carriage return, add2, etc.

When you have finished that, right click on the text object containing all these fields, and choose edit text object. Then with your pointer, click on each individual item, one at a time to highlight, then a right click a second time to choose format{database field}.

In the common tab - down the bottom, there should be a suppress if blank tick box - tick it for each.

Then if there is no add2 - it will skip it and not produce a blank.
