I was woundering if I am able to up grade a nam II to more ports. It currently has a two port card in it. The customer is complaining that they need more ports for more users at one time in the system. So can I up grade this thing. And if so what will I need to do. I know very little on the NAM's. Also how many mailboxes is a NAM II. thanks again guys.

nam has a 1000 mailboxes ...
do u have a copper NAM ... then you have to get a DVC board
+ keycodes to upgrade channels (if you see 2 phone cords going into the NAM , thats a copper nam)

if you have a fiber NAM (a fiebr connecitng the KSU and the NAM)hten you need just keycodes to upgrade till you get to 8 ports

What does your NAM say on the sticker inside?

If it's a copper NAM and only using 2 ports out of the 4 is comes with, you can just keycode upgrade to 4. If you are using the 4 ports already, you need a DVC like senk1s said.

it is copper, it has a single two port card in it. So do I need to just get another two port card and slap it in there to make it 4 port eight channel. And where can I get the key codes.

I would check channel status in access2 before you spend the money on the card. If you only have 2 of the 4 ports enabled, they will show a instead of . in channel status.
