Nam upgrade needed?? 3

We have a MICS rls1-t1 also our fiber Nam is at 3.0.10B We want to upgrade the MICS to 5.0 will we have to upgrade the VM also? Or will it be ok? I was told to beware of some Nam 4.xx problems? Is there some patches also needed if a upgrade is necessary? I'm not familiar with patches how do they work? Do u purchase them along with the upgrade? Could someone assist me in the steps to upgrade VM frm 3.0 to the next higher version that is compatible with MICS 5.0.

Also, you will have to get the upgrade kit (s/w on cd and a boot diskette with directions) and a cd backpack. Upgrade the mail before the Norstar.

It can also require an upgrade keycode to allow the upgrade. If all goes well your database will still be intact after the upgrade.
