NAM slow message delivery

I saw a thread when I searched, but no real answer.
Anyone figure out what causes this to happen on the NAM.
Is it a sign of a failing HD or some other issue.

This NAM is Co-Res, so that might add to the reasons for this.

8x24 DR5 with fiber NAM 4.0.04C connected via DS30 adapter.

I know they need to upgrade, but it's a Dr's office. Their too cheap to listen to reason.

Armendel. I would try to erase the messages in the mbox, then delete the mbox, reboot the NAM, then readd the voicemail back to the system. This has worked for me before, but it may be a sign that your NAM is going to crash.

Backup the programming, by doing a F983, log in, and hit 22 on the dial pad.

Backup the ACD programming, by going under DOS-Shell, at the command prompt type

COPY *.DAT to A:

This should backup all the data from the ACD.

Delayed messaging is typically a sign of a failing hard drive.
Backup your capabilities file using f915 so you do not lose your keycodes.
Do not reboot the mail may be unbootable.

So true aragon. Backup first, the NAM is going to need replacememt or repair sooner or later.

I guess it's time to talk them into a full upgrade.
We keep a copy of every NAM's sekur file on my server, just in case. We usually have full backup too, but I don't seem to have that.

Two comments.

First, I agree that the hard drive of the NAM is on it's way to needing to be replaced. A full backup of both recording/ programming and capabilities (aka keycodes ) should be performed.

Secondly, the DS30 adapters are a fairly old unit and even when they were still being produced, where not the most reliable devices for working properly.

Be prepare to upgrade and/or replacement of NAM.

Even better, now maybe the time to replace the KSU and voicemail to a newer version.
